My pregnancy at a glance

So I found out on 12/27 that we were expecting baby #4. Yes, it was planned, but we didn't think that it would happen so soon!! I didn't even think I was pregnant, but decided to take a test and man, the test showed positive right away!

As you can see in the picture, the test line is darker than the control line! This is probably because I was 7 weeks along before I tested!

The first trimester was horrible. I was sooooo tired and soooo nauseous all the time, I could barely function I was also on prometrium for the 1st 14 weeks because my progesterone levels were a little low. I think that just made it worse. I ended up asking for a prescription for zofran because I couldn't handle the nausea anymore. I was almost out of the 1st trimester at that point, so the OB didn't give me more than 14 tablets. It didn't even help

Once I passed the 1st trimeter, things got much better. I was able to function and to do housework again (Tim was grateful about that too I think!). It was hard for me to get into this pregnancy. Afterall, I just had a baby in May, and 6 mos later, I am pregnant again! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being pregnant for the most part, but I just had a baby. The thrill was gone.

I think once I was able to hear the baby's heart beat on a doppler, I got more excited. It seemed more real. I was becoming less and less paranoid about things happening to the baby. I don't know why I was so afraid that something was wrong. There has never been anything the matter in any of my pregnancies, but with this one, it was just so hard for me to get comfortable. Every twinge, I thought something was wrong. I was making myself nuts!

Fast forward to 3/24- ultrasound day! I want a girl so bad! Because I wanted a girl so badly, I was expecting to hear "its a boy". I was preparing myself for it. I asked Tim "So, if the tech says its a boy, would it be bad of me to begin crying" lol

We got to the u/s and the tech was doing all the measuring. Baby was SO active. It's so weird seeing the baby being so active when I couldn't feel it at all. I found out that my placenta was anterior- which means its in the front instead of towards my back. It's nothing serious, just sometimes the egg implants in a different position, and the placenta will gradually move. It doesn't get in the way at delivery or anything. Just something that happens. This is why I can't feel baby moving very much. In time, it will move and then I will feel punches and jabs they told me.
Sure enough, I think its moved because I can now feel little bubbles and kicks! Yay! Anyhow...back to the ultrasound. The tech asked us not to tell her what we have at home already (although Andrew was with us to see the baby) and not to tell her what we wanted. After talking, she said "from the sounds of it, I think you want another girl". And I started laughing (belly shaking while she was doing measurements, so I had to appologize lol ).

We got to the part where she had to look at the goods, and of course, baby wasn't cooperating. Legs were sorta shut. So, she did some other things and came back to it later to see if baby had moved. Finally, she said "so you have "boy, girl, boy...and another girl" I looked at Tim and smiled and he looked at Andrew and said something like "Now she's going to cry" and the tech said "Here is a tissue" and she handed me a box. lol It was still hard to tell, but when the other Dr. came in to have a look, he said he was "99% sure" and we were able to get a clearer picture at that point, and there is definately girly parts there!

Here is our little girl!

Now I am little over 21 weeks along, and I am finally able to relax and enjoy. I can feel her moving around a little bit- sepecially after having something to eat or drink! We've chosen the name Brooklyn Grace for her, and she is due around 8/22, depending on whether I go naturally via VBAC or if we have another c-section. If I end up w/ another c-section then she will be born up to a week earlier. Right now she is a little bigger than average. She was about 10 oz at the day of the u/s which is about 1.5 oz bigger than normal. She was also a few inches longer than average, so I guess it will all equal out!
We are anxious about her arrival! I have a good amount of baby things already, but there is still much more to buy. Sometime next month I will be ordering the car seat/stroller combo. The crib is last on my list. She will be in a bassinet for some time, so its not urgent.
We are using mainly cloth diapers for her, so that cuts down on cost alot. I used cloth with Andrew as well, although we still did use disposables too. I am going to try to keep disposables at a minimum. They are way too expensive!

Anyhow, things are going great. I am dreading the summer. I swell so much. I just have to keep myself hydrated and pray that the swelling isn't so bad this time. Ok, off to do some things around the house. Stay tuned!

Our family blog

I thought it would be a good idea to begin a blog for our family. We actually have a domain name purchased to make a nice fancy site, but we don't have the time right now to attempt to make it. So, this will have to do for now!

I thought it would be a nice way for out of town family to keep up w/ our lives and see how things are going on our end, and to see updated pictures of all of us.
